K9 Interdiction and Detection Services (“K9IDS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains, in plain language, what information this website collects, why we collect it, who else sees it, and what control you have over it.
Put simply: the only information we ask for is what you type into our contact form, and we use it for one purpose — to reply to you.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways.
Information You Give Us
When you submit our contact form, we collect the information you choose to provide:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number and organization, if you choose to provide them (both are optional)
- The location of the site you want screened
- The inquiry type you select
- The content of your message
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for sensitive personal information. Please do not include confidential security details, floor plans, or sensitive personal information about others in your initial message — we can arrange a secure channel for that once we are in contact.
Information Collected Automatically
Our web host records standard server log data for every visitor, including IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. This is generated automatically by the web server and is used for security, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention. We also temporarily record a one-way hash of your IP address (a fixed-length fingerprint that cannot be reversed back into the address) when you submit the contact form, solely to limit how many submissions can be sent from a single connection and prevent spam flooding.
2. Cookies and Third-Party Services
This site does not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party marketing or tracking services. We do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or social media trackers.
Besides our web hosting provider, which stores this site and generates the server logs described above, we rely on two third-party services, both solely to operate our contact form:
Google reCAPTCHA
Our contact page loads Google reCAPTCHA v3 to distinguish genuine visitors from automated spam. reCAPTCHA sets a cookie and analyzes activity on that page in order to produce a score indicating whether a submission is likely to be human. We receive only that score — we do not receive or store the underlying behavioral data. Google’s handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
SendGrid
Submitted messages are delivered to our inbox using SendGrid, an email delivery provider. The contents of your message pass through SendGrid’s systems for that purpose only.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you submit only to:
- Read and respond to your inquiry
- Follow up about the services you asked about
- Prevent spam and abuse of our contact form
- Comply with the law where we are legally required to do so
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing, and we do not add you to a mailing list or send marketing emails unless you specifically ask us to.
4. How Long We Keep It
We keep contact form correspondence only as long as it is useful for the inquiry and any resulting business relationship, and no longer than three years from our last contact with you, unless a longer period is required by law or by an ongoing contract. Spam-prevention records tied to submissions are discarded within days. You may ask us to delete your information sooner at any time.
5. How We Protect It
This website is served entirely over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Access to submitted messages is limited to K9IDS personnel who need it to respond to you. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the limited amount of information we hold.
6. Your Privacy Rights
K9IDS is based in California’s Central Valley and works throughout the entire United States, so which privacy law covers you depends on where you live, not on where we are. California residents have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), including:
- The right to know what personal information we have collected about you and how we use it
- The right to delete the personal information we hold about you
- The right to correct inaccurate personal information
- The right to opt out of sale or sharing — noting that we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of
- The right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights
A growing number of other states have comprehensive privacy laws of their own, granting broadly similar rights. We do not sort requests by state: every right listed above is available to anyone who writes to us, wherever in the country you are. We hold so little information that one standard for everyone is simpler than working out which law applies.
Because we do not maintain user accounts or mailing lists, we hold nothing about you unless you have contacted us. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, which we will normally do by confirming details of the original message.
7. Children’s Privacy
K9IDS offers its services to schools, but this website is intended for adults acting on behalf of an organization. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this website. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Links to Other Sites
This site links to a small number of external pages, such as Google’s privacy and terms pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any site we link to, and we encourage you to read their policies.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
